Description
In the early 1700s in South Texas Apache raided from the north, deadly diseases spread from Mexico, and drought lingered. Survival lay in the Spanish missions. By entering a mission, the native inhabitants foreswore their traditional life to become Spanish, accepting a new religion and pledging fidelity to a distant and unseen king.
