Sunflowers grow best in locations with direct sun (6 to 8 hours per day). They prefer long, hot summers to flower well. Sunflowers have long tap roots which need to stretch out so the plants prefer well dug, loose, well draining soil.

Thank you for visiting our site. We have been married 58 years and are long time partners in our art as well as life. Most of the beautiful floral and butterfly images are from Carol's camera while most of the rest are from David's. The making of a photographic image requires more than the click of a shutter.In the days of film photography we spent many hours in the chemical darkroom to make the negative more than just a "picture".
