Every gardener wants this colorful perennial. Despite its divine origins, it is hardy, reliable, and easy to grow. Irises also attract butterflies and hummingbirds and make lovely cut flowers. Most irises flower in early summer.
The color purple conveys royalty. It is a mysterious color and is often associated with nobility and spirituality. The opposites of hot red and cool blue combine to create this intriguing color.
