Description
The first bluebonnets of the season in North Texas. Named for its color and the resemblance of its petal to a woman's sunbonnet, the bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas. It blooms in the early spring and can be readily found in fields and along the roadsides throughout central and south Texas.
A hardy winter annual native to Texas, the bluebonnet is the "State Flower of Texas". It is the most commonly seen variety along roadsides and in uncultivated pastures throughout the state.
