Description
The Praying Mantis, a master of disguise, is a carnivorous insect with a very colorful appetite. They can turn their triangular heads up to 180 degrees in search for an insect. Typically green or brown and well camouflaged on the plants among which they live, mantis lie in ambush or patiently stalk their quarry. When threatened, the praying mantis will stand tall and spread their forelegs with their wings fanning out wide and mouths open. This defensive stance is used to make the praying mantis seem larger, so that it can scare the opponent.
This little green guy was captured using a Lensbaby.
