Description
The two art deco statues that are seen at Dallas Fair Park are called "Tenor" and "Contralto". The two 15 foot tall bronze statues that graced the Esplanade Fountain at Fair Park's opening in 1936 disappeared sometime thereafter. Speculation is they were melted down for the war effort during World War II, but no one knows for sure. The two have been replaced by replicas and again watch over the Esplanade Fountain at Fair Park.
